Critique of Pure Reason (artwork, paperweight)

author: Denys Zhadiaiev

(Limited edition: only 19 copies)

1) Lowest level reminds a crescent - this is a level of sensitivity (it appears at night and there is no clear bound of the things - definition is always rational and it happens on the next level

2) twelve circles - geometrical figures stand for categories. They are structured and clear - like the reason

3) the level above reminds a sign of eternity. These are antinomies, "eternal questions" without answer (four thesises and four antithesises within the symbol of eternity are for two mathematical and two dynamical antinomies of CPR, one thesis and one antithesis on each side of symbol of eternity are for antinomy of "Critique of Practical Reason" and other circles outside eternity symbol are for antinomies of "Critique of Judgement" - "Can we argue about beauty or not"?...

The highest level is the level of our cognition which resembles crown - the ideas of Pure Reason (God, immortality of the soul and freedom). There is lithography of Kant's silhouette that signifies that his soul is still immortal in his ideas.

On the whole, the composition reminds a chess figure - the Queen, isn't it? - Right, it beats any other figure in similar way as Kantian "Critique..." beats other conceptions. Some people remark that this figure is composed in some kind of masonic style.

And, at last, it seems like this figure is composed on tough metal material. It is because this mode of thinking is classic and not likely to be changed.
